Moss Rose Designs ~~ specialty handbags

Well, this is my first venture into blogging -- a strange new world for this forty something year old!  I am currently actively involved with managing my new online venture with Etsy.  I have a shop where I have beautiful designer handbags and fun little handbag accessories for sale.  You can visit my shop at  http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6932840.

I have recently been working on some new styles for my shop.  I've introduced a very large tote that has a nice unstructured look to it.  Plus, I have added my first clutches ever.  They turned out beautifully, I think?,  and I hope they are well received.  I will say, clutches are not my favorite things to make -- the frames are a little difficult to deal with.  I'm learning.  I have some smaller frames that I will be working on in the near future.

I am also busy sewing my first custom order!  My Mother-In-Law commissioned me to design and sew a handbag as a birthday gift for my Sister-In-Law Karen -- no pressure, right???  No, really, it has been great fun searching for the right fabric.  Karen loves dragonflies and Florence and I found a great fabric for the main piece.  I also found some wonderful coordinates.  It is almost complete -- I hope to finish tonight after my time at the shop I work part-time in.

Personally -- my oldest daughter just got glasses!  She was very concerned when she learned she needed them -- she is only twelve.  We found some beautiful frames that really compliment her gorgeous face.  Thanks PearlVision!  She has adjusted very well to wearing them and sees much better.

My husband, the hobbyist home brewer, got to brew with a professional yesterday!  He had a lot of fun seeing his favorite hobby on such a large scale.  I think he did a lot of sanitizing!

My youngest daughter got to read her own little editorial to her entire school on the school's morning news show last week!  I am so proud of her -- she composed it herself and is so brave to want to put herself out there like that!

That's life today -- Dana
